I understand that management of South Eastern trains have become engaged in making veiled threats to ground level staff if they participate in the balloted proposed industrial action. When I first heard this, I thought it was union generated propoganda, but I do not now believe this to be the case.
I am no supporter of strike action in any form as I believe it to be wholly counter productive, but I am very surprised that South Eastern are adopting these tactics. Surely it is both illegal and unprofessional? Apart from which it cannot assist in staff relationships - I understand that feeling on the ground has hardened as a result, which won't help the current dispute.
Any comment from an HR professional or a member of South Eastern's Management team?
