Passenger Operations

I have a query on passenger operations. I work for a company who provides services to a Local authority, i.e. providing staff, lorry drivers and operating resources owned by, and on behalf of this Local authority. This operation is providing enforcement services. I have been asked to supply 2 drivers for a minibus with 8 passenger seats and a minibus with 16 passenger seats, to carry a mixture of my own employees and those of the Local Authority. Both minibuses will be provided by the Local Authority and I will be managing both. The queries I have are:

What Driving licences will each driver need to hold? Will I need to have an operators licence? If so would it be standard or restricted? Would I have to apply for a completely new operators licence? Would holding a Freight operators licence change the process? Would I have to have a Passenger CPC holder? I am a CPC holder freight by grandfather rights, whats the best way to get a Passenger CPC if I need one?

RE: Passenger Operations

Hi Chris.

ref; minibuses you will need [b] licence 8seaters and [d1] for 16 seater  as you are doing it for hire/reward you will require national licence and c.p.c passenger. Freight c.p.c is no good, restricted licence allows you Two licence.s only [no] c.p.c required. Hope this is helpful
