Current Awareness Bulletin - 4th August 2010

Firstly I would like to say thank you to all those members who responded to my blog last week with some interesting comments and suggestions! It was very much appreciated and I have stepped down from my soapbox this week thankfully.

Right, onto more pressing matters, the finalists of our Annual Awards for Excellence have been announced, and once again there are some interesting names on the shortlist.  You can find out who, just here.

If you haven’t already booked your place at the awards dinner you should do so soon, Institute President Sir Moir Lockhead, will be in attendance to celebrate the achievements of the winners.  The dinner takes place on 7th October at the London Marriott Hotel in Grosvenor Square, London and promises to be a fantastic evening.  Further details on how to book are on the web site.

The evening is a great opportunity to celebrate all that is great and good about our industry, and to give ourselves a well deserved pat on the back.  TV presenter Declan Curry is overseeing the proceedings, along with Institute President, Sir Moir Lockhead.

We do have a couple of awards still available for sponsorship, so if your company would like to have a company table for 10 at the awards dinner, a full page advertisement in Focus, company branding on awards literature, amongst a range of other benefits please contact the Events Team and they will be happy to talk you through your sponsorship options.

For those of you who have been to previous awards dinners, you will know what a great evening this is and I hope you have already booked your place!

David is back from his holiday next week, I am sure he will have a tale or two to tell of his jaunts around the country during his time off, so make sure you have your coffee and chocolate biscuit ready for next week’s CAB!
