Beaconsfield Networking Group - Suggestions, improvements and new topics

The Beaconsfield Networking Group has a wide and numerous membership and there are many regular attendees who find it interesting, helpful and the preferred way of maintaining direct contact with the insitute.  The topical subject at a meeting is largely determined by what is thought to be of interest.  It forms the cornerstone of the meeting, however, there is plenty of opportunity for other discussion and networking too.

If you have attended in the past, or are thinking about coming along, why not give us your ideas and suggestions for a topic (and hopefully a contact who could talk on the subject).  The coordination and administration is all done for you, so let's hear about some suggestions and ideas.

RE: Beaconsfield Networking Group - Suggestions, improvements and new topics

Doug

Thanks for the invitation.  I live near to Beaconsfield and would attend meetings if they covered transport issues.  My particular interest is in airports and railways and, given that Heathrow is so close, perhaps we could discuss the forthcoming consultation on the better use of existing runway capacity and the prospects for a third runway, or the strategy for further rail links to the airport, including the Greengauge 21 proposal for a high speed line.

RE: Beaconsfield Networking Group - Suggestions, improvements and new topics

Thank you, Paul, for the constructive suggestions. You have some interesting subjects which I will follow up.

However, are you aware that there is also a NHC Region Passenger Networking Group lead by Clive King?  www.ciltuk.org.uk/pages/regions/northhc They typically meet in Watford/Hertford area.

You may have also indirectly highlighted the perception of boundaries with the institute regions.  Beaconsfiled is right in the corner of Northern Home Counties and close to Thames Valley Group of Central Southern Region and the Heathrow Group of London Region.  The boundaries are no obstacle and members are free to attend any meetings.
