Eastern Region - Events Feedback and Ideas wanted

The Events team on the Eastern Region Committee would very much appreciate any feedback on our Events programme.

If you have attended any of our events this year, what did you think? Was it helpful and interesting? Was it disappointing? Was it a useful use of your time? Is so, why? Please let us know.

OR If you haven't attended any Eastern events this year, what would be of interest. Please give us your thoughts so we can improve next years programme. It is your region, let's have your input please.

thanks

The Events team

thanks Concreted, I'll bring this back into the next team meeting that we have of the events team. Given all the building works in or near our region re the Olympics as well as the oft quoted explosion in new house demand, this does sound like a hot topic.

Calling any Institute members in this sector - any interest, or is there anyone out there who could host a visit or put up a quality speaker on this topic?

 thanks, Alan

Alan

We had a really good Supply Chain Network event last night. Simon Wheadon of Computacenter (UK) gave us a presentation on Human Performance Technology - as part of their drive for excellence, Computacenter have deployed Human Performance Technology, a programme which helps companies realise the full potential of their employees.

Simon extended an invitation to visit Computacenter (UK)'s Distribution Centre in Hatfield. How do you fancy doing a joint event between Eastern Region and the Supply Chain Network? I know that Northern Home Counties have already had a visit, as Simon was recommended to us following one of our members going along to that.

RE: Eastern Region - Events Feedback and Ideas wanted

Hi Alison

would be looking for a speaker who would be able to talk about a particular project underway in the Eastern region (Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire) that involved the logistics challenges around large scale construction or regeneration projects. Format would be a 60 mins or so presentation designed to be of general interest to logisticians from different industry sectors. Guess the obvious ones are anything to do with the construction projects around the 2012 Olympics. We had a speaker in last years programme who gave an interesting insight into the Thames Gateway project, albeit this was a more strategic review of that initiative. As per the idea above from Concreted, we could be looking for someone with a specific focus on the logistics of construction materials. Would probably be looking for a slot around January/February time to fit in with the programme. Let me know your thoughts, thanks, Alan
