Double stacked pallets

I am looking at opportunities to double stack pallets whilst in transit.

Has anyone used or have any detail / experience of a metal framework that goes around a pallet to enable another pallet to be stacked on top. The framework taking the weight of the top pallet rather than the lower palletised stock. This framework collapses down when not required.

Any knowledge would be appreciated.

Thankyou. Rob.

RE: Double stacked pallets

Rob

I work with pallets of this type in the automotive industry. Predominently they have lugged legs for the stability of  stacking. They also collapse for returning to the vendor. Unfortunately these are what we call specials and are "made to order". The only other alternative would be to use chep, but i'm not to sure if they will be sufficient. Time to get your employer to dig deep in his pockets?
